Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District has opened its 2027 Clean Stormwater Grant Program, offering up to $40,000 for schools, nonprofits and community groups inside the district boundary to fund water-resource field trips and stormwater-quality projects.
The district’s grant page says applications opened Oct. 1, 2026, and are due Dec. 18, 2026, at 5 p.m. Pacific. Awards are expected in January, with final materials due by Dec. 31, 2027. Two tracks are available: Water Resources Field Trip Grants of up to $2,000 and General Grants of up to $4,000.
Field-trip grants can cover transportation, facility use and program fees for educational trips focused on water resources. General grants can support stormwater education, household hazardous-waste outreach, business pollution-prevention assistance, restoration and cleanup work, low-impact development, related research and other projects that benefit stormwater quality.
Eligible applicants include schools and universities, youth organizations, churches, volunteer groups, nonprofits and other community-based organizations located in the district. Individuals, for-profit businesses and public agencies seeking money for mandated regulatory compliance are not eligible. Applicants must confirm they are inside the district using its boundary map.
The district lists Natalie Rose Wilcox as grant administrator at environmental@fresnofloodcontrol.org or (559) 456-3292, and directs applicants to use its boundary map and the field-trip or general grant application forms on the program page.
