Newsom says judge rebuffed Trump DOJ’s bid to interfere in California elections
The governor’s office said Oct. 28, 2026 that U.S. District Judge David Carter ruled against the Trump administration’s lawsuit; Attorney General Rob Bonta called the decision “yet another important victory” and said the state will keep fighting to dismiss the case.
