The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity announced it will host a Path to 2028 event on Oct. 8 at Plummer Park in West Hollywood; the program runs 9:30–11:30 a.m., doors open at 9 a.m., and attendance is free to businesses of all sizes. The county described the program as part of its LA County x 88 Cities & Unincorporated Areas – Path to 2028 series, which brings business-readiness workshops directly into communities across the county.
The event will pair a regional leadership panel with a Get Ready, Get Set, Go business-readiness workshop. The county said the panel will feature Third District Supervisor and representatives from Culver City, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. The workshop will cover certifications, vendor registration, identifying contracting opportunities, navigating solicitations, preparing competitive bids and proposals, and accessing workforce and hiring resources related to LA28.
Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath said, “LA28 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to bring investment, visitors, and economic opportunity to communities across Los Angeles County.” She said Los Angeles County is working to make sure small and local businesses are ready to compete and have a real pathway to benefit, adding that by working together now, “we can make sure the opportunities created by LA28 reach our local businesses and continue to strengthen our economy long after the Games are over.”
After the workshop, businesses can meet one-on-one with representatives from the participating cities, DEO and business-serving partners for individualized assistance. The county provided a registration link: bit.ly/pathto2028, and the event location as Plummer Park Community Center Fiesta Hall, 1200 N. Vista St., West Hollywood, CA 90046.
The Department of Economic Opportunity said it operates America’s Job Centers of California, the Office of Small Business and the LA County Film Office and that its programs aim to help small businesses and employers start and grow. The county invited communities to request additional Path to 2028 workshops through opportunity.lacounty.gov/pathto2028.
