Los Angeles County said Registrar‑Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan announced the county is mailing Vote by Mail ballots to all registered voters for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election.
“With Vote by Mail ballots arriving soon, voters can begin making their plan and don’t have to wait until Election Day to vote,” Dean C. Logan said. “This is a long ballot, so we encourage voters to take the time to review their choices and, when they’re ready, vote and return their ballot early. Voting early is convenient for voters and allows our office to begin processing ballots sooner so more can be included in Election Night results.”
Voters can track their ballot with the Where’s My Ballot? tool; the county said the free subscription sends automatic notifications by text, email or voicemail on ballot status.
The county listed three return options: drop off at any one of 400+ Official Ballot Drop Box locations across Los Angeles County; return by mail with no postage required and returning ballots at least seven days before Election Day to ensure timely delivery; or drop off at a local Vote Center beginning Oct. 24. Voters should sign and date the Return Envelope before returning it.
Sample Ballot Books continue to be mailed to all registered voters; the county said some voters may receive their Vote by Mail ballot before their Sample Ballot Book because of separate production timelines.
Eligible voters who have not registered and want a ballot by mail must register to vote by Oct. 19, 2026 to receive one, the county said. The RR/CC said election materials are available in English and 18 additional languages; voters can request translated materials by using the Language Request Form at the back of the Sample Ballot Book or by calling (800) 815-2666, option 3. Spanish language assistance is available at (213) 358-2770, and additional language lines are listed at LAVOTE.GOV.
