The governor’s office announced appointments to the California Water Commission, the State Advisory Group on Youth Justice, the California Board of Accountancy and the Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board, the office said.

Garry South of Marina Del Rey was appointed to the California Water Commission; the release said the position requires Senate confirmation and carries $100 per diem. South has led Garry South Consulting since 2016 and previously worked in political and communications roles in state and national offices, the release said.

Kenneth Houston of Oakland, Shane Harris of San Diego and Edward “Jeff” Goldman of Nevada City were appointed to the State Advisory Group on Youth Justice. The release said those appointments do not require Senate confirmation and carry no compensation. The release said Houston has served on the Oakland City Council since 2025; Harris is director of communications at Gomez Trial Attorneys and runs S Harris Communications; Goldman has been chief probation officer for Nevada County Probation since 2021.

Kristian Latta of Eastvale and Nancy Corrigan of Glendora were reappointed to the California Board of Accountancy; the release said the board posts carry $100 per diem. The release summarized Latta’s and Corrigan’s accounting careers and professional affiliations.

Beatriz Gonzalez of Indio was reappointed to the Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board; the release said that post requires Senate confirmation and carries $250 per diem. The release said Gonzalez most recently served as district coordinator of expanded learning programs at Coachella Valley Unified School District.

Practical consequence for readers: the appointees to the Water Commission and the regional water board will need Senate confirmation before occupying those roles, while the state advisory group on youth justice members can begin serving without confirmation, the governor’s office said.

The governor’s office published the list Oct. 22, 2026.
