SACRAMENTO — Governor issued a proclamation dated Sept. 10, 2026, declaring Sept. 11, 2026, “Patriot Day” in California.

The proclamation notes the 2001 attacks killed about 3,000 people, including 36 Californians, and honors the civilians and uniformed personnel who responded and assisted in the aftermath.

It directs that flags on state buildings be flown at half-staff on Sept. 11, 2026.

The document is signed by Governor Gavin Newsom and attested by Secretary of State , Ph.D.
