Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan said Monday, Oct. 19, is the deadline to register to vote and receive a Vote by Mail ballot for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election.
The registrar's office said registration can be completed online at LAVOTE.GOV; registration applications are also available at most government buildings, including libraries, the Department of Motor Vehicles and RR/CC offices across the county.
The office said voters who miss the Oct. 19 deadline will not be issued a Vote by Mail ballot but can vote in person at any Vote Center in Los Angeles County beginning Saturday, Oct. 24.
Voters displaced by 2025 wildfires do not need to change their registration and may add a temporary mailing address to receive election materials; the registrar's office directs affected voters to LAVOTE.GOV/Recovery for more information.
The RR/CC provides translated election materials in 18 languages; voters can request translated materials by returning the Language Request Form on the back of the Sample Ballot Book or by calling (800) 815-2666, option 3, and Spanish speakers may call (213) 358-2701 for direct assistance.
The registrar's office also assembled a media kit for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election with details on the voting process, voting options and reporting of results.
