Riverside County’s Ad Hoc Committee will hold a series of public listening sessions to gather feedback on options for sheriffs’ oversight, the county said.

The county posted that the committee will collect feedback; review how other counties and cities perform law enforcement oversight; evaluate existing oversight capabilities; and consider legal, financial and operational impacts.

The county listed one session location in Palm Desert at the Coachella Valley Water District Steve Robbins Administration Building, 75515 Hovley Lane East; the post includes calendar links for the event page.

Committee findings and recommendations will return to the Board of Supervisors by the end of January 2027, the county said.

For residents this means the county is formally soliciting public input as it weighs changes to oversight; the committee’s recommendations will shape what the Board considers early next year.
