The state attorney general’s office said it will announce a $272.5 million settlement with rideshare company Lyft at a press conference in San Francisco today.

The office said the settlement resolves allegations that between 2016 and 2020 Lyft committed wage theft by misclassifying drivers as independent contractors rather than employees.

Attorney General will appear with San Diego City Attorney Heather Ferbert, San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu and Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Joshua Crowell.

The press conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. PT; the office said it will stream the event live on oag.ca.gov and that media must RSVP for the location.
