The attorney general’s office said two people were arrested after a multi‑agency operation that recovered six firearms, ammunition and narcotics from a residence in Tulare County.

Officers seized three rifles, two shotguns, one pistol, 99 rounds of ammunition, 24 grams of methamphetamine and three digital scales; the office said the pistol had been reported stolen in 2023 from Visalia.

Attorney General said, “When firearms fall into the wrong hands, they put our communities at risk.” The office said the recovery was the result of a coordinated operation by its task force and local and federal partners.

On Oct. 6, 2026, the Tulare County Agencies Regional Gun Violence Enforcement Team, with support from the Tulare Police Department SWAT Team, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Community Compliance Unit and the California Department of Justice, executed a search warrant at a Tulare residence, the office said.

The office said one person was arrested on suspicion of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possessing a loaded firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, allowing a convicted felon access to a firearm, possessing stolen property and possessing a controlled substance for sale. The office said a second person was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance with qualifying prior convictions, and violating parole; California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation personnel located and arrested the second individual during the operation.

The office said the TARGET task force includes personnel from the California Department of Justice’s Bureau of Firearms, the Visalia Police Department, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and that the task force works with agencies throughout Tulare County to reduce gun violence.

The office said the charges described are only allegations and that every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
