California Department of Justice agents seized three illegal multi-player gambling machines and arrested three people at a Vallejo business on Oct. 21, Attorney General 's office said Oct. 26.

The case began in July, when the Vallejo Police Department gave the department a tip that illegal gambling establishments were operating in the city. Investigators from DOJ's Bureau of Gambling Control reviewed the tip and took the lead, the office said.

DOJ directed the operation and wrote the search warrant, and the Vallejo police SWAT team served it. All charges will be filed with the Solano County District Attorney's Office. The release did not name the business or the people arrested.

“Let this operation serve as a lesson to not bet against the California Department of Justice. If you do, your luck will run out, and when it does, we will not hesitate to prosecute you to the full extent of the law,” Bonta said.

The Bureau of Gambling Control is charged with making sure gambling in California is “conducted honestly, competitively, and free from criminal and corruptive elements,” the release said. Charges are allegations, and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
