The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services published a staff profile of Michaela White on Oct. 21, 2026; the agency said the piece is part of its "I am Cal OES" video series.
Cal OES said White is an information technology specialist with the California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC) and has worked at Cal OES for more than four years. She researches emerging threats, analyzes intelligence and helps leadership prepare for potential cyber incidents.
Cal OES said the Cal-CSIC works with state and local partners to strengthen California’s cybersecurity and to help protect the digital systems Californians rely on; the agency said cyber threats can disrupt critical services like utilities and transportation, compromise personal data and affect everyday technology.
White is quoted in the profile saying, "The work that we do is very much behind the scenes, protecting the networks and systems and services that the people of California rely on every day. By identifying emerging cyber threats and sharing that information with our local partners, we’re helping communities become better prepared and more resilient against potential cyber incidents," Michaela said.
Cal OES said White dreamed of serving California from a young age and that she enjoys the dynamic nature of the work; the profile frames her role as one of several staff positions the agency highlights to show how it supports statewide readiness.
