Riverside County announced that the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office received the RivCoONE Award of Excellence during the Board of Supervisors meeting on Oct. 6, 2026; the county said the office was the sole countywide recipient.
“This recognition reflects the dedication, professionalism, and collaboration of our entire team,” said Matt Jennings, Riverside County Treasurer-Tax Collector.
The county said the office improved non-sufficient funds processing by eliminating the need to wait for the bank to return check images; NSF items can now be processed on the same day the debit occurs, allowing Refund Processing to remove payments and issue taxpayer notifications more quickly.
The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office said its self-service payment kiosks processed more than $5 million during the last two collection cycles; the county added that taxpayers praised the kiosks for ease of use and for helping them avoid long lines and wait times.
The county said improvements to excess proceeds processing; including streamlined workflows, strategic prioritization and collaboration with County Counsel; reduced a backlog of nearly 600 files and accelerated the return of funds to eligible recipients.
Riverside County said the award highlights the office’s focus on fiscal responsibility, innovation and customer service; the changes aim to speed payments and notifications and make it easier for taxpayers to pay and to receive refunds.
