San Bernardino County described the verification, processing and counting steps its Registrar of Voters uses for mail ballots ahead of the Nov. 3 General Election, the county said.
Ballots are transported under established chain-of-custody procedures to the Registrar of Voters for verification and processing.
Signatures on return envelopes are verified; once a signature is validated, the ballot is removed from its envelope and prepared for counting.
To ensure your ballot is included in Election Night results, mail it by Tuesday, Oct. 27; take it to a ballot drop box by Friday, Oct. 30; or drop it off at an Early Voting Location by Friday, Oct. 30.
No postage is needed to mail your ballot.
If you are mailing close to Election Day, take the ballot to the counter inside a post office and ask for a hand-stamped postmark.
Sign up for the California Secretary of State’s “Where’s My Ballot?” tracking system to receive email, text or voice notifications that show when your ballot is mailed, received and counted.
More information is at Elections.SBCounty.gov or by calling the Registrar of Voters at 909-387-8300.
