Gov. visited Visalia and presented a Made in California license to Voltage Multipliers, a locally owned advanced manufacturer that has operated in California since the 1980s, the governor’s office said. The statewide labeling and marketing program is now accepting applications.

The program is led by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development and the California Office of the Small Business Advocate. It is open to manufacturers whose products are substantially made in California. Participating firms may use the Made in California label and access additional marketing resources.

Officials said the program targets small and mid-sized manufacturers, which account for roughly 89% of the state’s manufacturing firms, because those businesses often lack marketing infrastructure. The governor’s office said the program will help participating firms reach customers, pursue contracts, attract capital and enter export markets.

Newsom recently announced $10.4 million for advanced manufacturing in the Central San Joaquin Valley, the release said. The funds will support projects such as renovating The Forge at CSU Fresno and backing the San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance to coordinate industry and upskill K-16 educators.

The governor’s office provided statewide manufacturing figures to show the sector’s scale: in 2025 manufacturers produced $391 billion in economic output and in 2024 exports were $159 billion. The office also noted California has 1.24 million manufacturing workers who earn more than $25,000 above the average nonfarm wage, and that the manufacturing jobs multiplier estimates each manufacturing job supports three more in neighboring communities.

Manufacturers interested in eligibility requirements or applying should visit https://madeincalifornia.ca.gov. The governor’s office said there is a limited-time offer to have all fees waived for eligible applicants.

Dee Dee Myers, senior advisor to the governor and director of GO-Biz, said, "California’s economic might and diversity are simply unmatched." , secretary of the California Labor & Workforce Development Agency, said, "Made in California showcases the industries and workers building the Golden State and the nation."
