Gov. signed an executive order to establish an Executive Director of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games Delivery and Coordination Strike Team, the governor's office said.

The order appoints Jamie Callahan as Executive Director; the strike team will convene more than a dozen state agencies along with local governments, federal partners and LA28 organizers to coordinate statewide preparations and operational planning.

The strike team, the release says, will identify opportunities to streamline permitting, improve communication across agencies and support regional efforts to expand workforce and economic opportunities.

The governor's office described existing state investments intended to support LA28 and leave lasting local benefits. Those investments include $96.5 million (plus an additional $7 million announced in September) to modernize Exposition Park; $257 million for Southwest Los Angeles County mobility hubs; $2.45 million for infrastructure and safety work at four Los Angeles County transit stations; and $252 million for Games Route Network improvements along key freeway corridors.

The office framed the work as building on California’s coordination of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and said Callahan led that effort over the past two years; it described her as the deputy chief of staff and senior counselor on infrastructure with more than 15 years advising California governors.

The release presents the strike team as a mechanism to align state resources behind venue modernization, transportation reliability and public-safety coordination; residents should expect those state projects to be positioned as part of LA28 planning, the office said.
