The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said Oct. 13, 2026, its crews completed repairs on a leaking air vacuum valve connected to the Westgate Trunk Line in Brentwood; all water service in the affected area has been restored and W. Sunset Boulevard is fully reopened with traffic impacts lifted.

LADWP said crews worked around the clock starting Friday afternoon to isolate the affected section of pipe, stop the leak, stabilize the pipeline and begin restoring the surrounding area. The agency said water remained safe and reliable throughout the response thanks to advance planning, backup systems and support from partner agencies.

The urgent call for customers to conserve water has ended, the agency said; LADWP thanked residents of Pacific Palisades and Brentwood for voluntarily conserving water, and said those efforts helped maintain system pressure during repairs.

Normal water service operations have resumed and no special conservation measures are currently required. Customers with ongoing service concerns should contact LADWP through the utility's usual customer service channels.
