The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said on Oct. 12, 2026, that customers in Pacific Palisades should conserve water while crews perform critical repairs to equipment tied to the Westgate Trunk Line.
LADWP said water remains safe to drink, but requested that residents and businesses reduce use for the next few days, especially from 4 A.M. to 8 A.M., when morning demand peaks.
The utility asked customers to turn off automatic irrigation and pool auto-refill systems, limit showers to under five minutes, and refrain from running dishwashers and laundry machines.
LADWP said those conservation steps will help crews balance water pressure while they pressurize and disinfect backup pipes and take water quality samples.
LADWP said it is coordinating with the Los Angeles Fire Department so additional water tenders are available for firefighting if needed.
To protect public safety around the work site, all eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of Sunset Boulevard between Allenford Avenue and Mandeville Canyon Road are closed; cyclists, pedestrians and motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
Customers can report a power outage or water main break by calling 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397) or at www.ladwp.com/outages.
